Peace Of Mind For A Bride On A Rainy Wedding Day
Its hard to imagine rain on a wedding day, but sadly the British weather is not something that can be prearranged.
Do not let it spoil your special day by being prepared with a RAINAWAY BRIDE!!!
A waterproof cloak with an elasticated hem which will scoop most dresses skirts up and away from puddles and mud.
The large hood covers the head completely and protects hair and makeup.
This innovative product will keep any bride looking pristine and able to forget about the weather and enjoy the day of her dreams.
As a bridal designer, Dornellie, I felt the pain of so many brides arriving to their ceremony looking damp, muddy and not the beautiful vision which had taken so much planning and preparation to achieve.
I then got to thinking about some kind of 'poncho' which would keep a bride dry. This still didnt solve the problem of the hem of the dress.
To try and hold up many of these wedding dresses is a real struggle for a bride and even with help doesnt always work and will look incredibly undignified. Many knickers have been flashed as a result of too vigourous hoiking of skirts!
The bridesmaids were also getting soaked as a result of trying to help, so the problem was just getting worse.
The answer was to elasticate the hem and form a pocket for the gown to sit into.
The next stage was a name and after much pacing and pencil chewing.....Rainaway Bride!!!!
I now have a quirky but fully functional product which is the answer to all brides staying clean and dry for their big day.
Keep Dry and Get Married!!!!

SkyBlue Designs Introduces Their New 'Lace' Imprint Jewellery Collection
Skyblue Designs introduce their new handmade collection of beautiful silver 'Lace' imprint
jewellery including necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and cufflinks. The collection offers something unique for your wedding day and a memory to take with you and treasure afterwards.
There is an abundance of lace seen on wedding dresses at the moment and this trend is set to stay with 2014 collections showing even more lace. With brides spending so much time, planning what dress to wear on their big day and then once worn, it's resigned a box rarely to be worn again.
So Michelle Bungay from Skyblue Designs has come up with a lovely way to keep a piece of the wedding dress with you to enjoy wearing forever. By capturing an imprint of lace from your wedding dress Michelle can turn it into a beautiful piece of silver jewellery.
Owner and designer of Skyblue Designs, Michelle Bungay said: ''Because the imprint is taken from the lace on the bride's wedding dress, it provides the bride with a very unique way of capturing a memory and giving them the chance to wear a little piece of their wedding dress everyday.
'The collection includes something for the whole wedding party, I have created bracelets, earrings necklaces, pendants and also bracelet charms which would be suitable for the bride and her bridesmaids. But I didn't want to leave the men out so I have created cufflinks which would be suitable for the groom, his groomsmen and the father of the bride.'

10 Ways to Use Glowsticks at Weddings
Glowsticks may not be the first thing that would pop into a bride’s mind when considering decorations and favours for her wedding, but with a little imagination, they can give your wedding day an extra special glow. The Glow Company find ten fabulous ways to use glowsticks at your wedding….
1. Table Decorations
Glowsticks can make stunning table decorations when used with flowers and flower arranging accessories. Place a glowstick in the centre of a vase full of flower arranging pearls or crushed decor ice and the stunning glow emitted from the vase will create a striking table decoration that can be used alone or with flowers depending upon the effects that you want to achieve.
2. Highlight your wedding dance
The wedding dance can be the highlight of your wedding reception, and with many couples going for an all out performance these days, the pressure is on to be a little bit different. Why not go the whole hog with your wedding dance and include bright and colourful glowsticks in your performance?
3. Entertain the kids
Kids are always great fun at a wedding, but with a ceremony and then reception to attend it can be a long day for kids, and equally so for their parents trying to entertain them! Kids love glowsticks, they’re drawn to the bright neon glow which simply enchants them; why not then pop glowsticks, glow necklaces and glow in the dark bracelets into a goodie bag for each child to help keep them entertained throughout the day and night?
4. Favours/gifts for each guest
Scatter six inch glowsticks and colourful glow bracelets on the tables at your reception as little gifts for your wedding guests for instant conversation starters and to create a fun and exciting atmosphere. Some wedding party’s present glowsticks with the note: “You’ve made our future bright; now please do the same tonight”.
5. Night do!
Give glowsticks to your wedding guests and watch the party atmosphere take over! From dancers to jugglers and those who love to simply twirl around creating light trails, glowsticks will bring out the best in your guests and a fabulous party atmosphere with it! Loved by the young and older generations, nobody can resist dancing and twirling glowsticks, and they’re guaranteed to make a memorable wedding reception.
6. Include in the ceremony
An unusual one, but stay with us… a quirky couple in the US cracked glowsticks during their ceremony when saying their vows and used the bright and vibrant glow as a representation of their love! Awwww! Unusual, but symbolic, and because glowsticks will glow for up to twelve hours, they’ll glow all through your night do too!
7. Games
Entertain your guests during the evening and play games with glowsticks. Have a dance off, or have a turn making light art using long exposure cameras, let your imagination go wild!
8. Glow barware
Theme your night do with glow in the dark barware! A fun and novel way to serve up wedding drinks, glow cups and drinks glasses are a brilliant way to brighten up drinks and look great on the night.
9. Hen night
Your hen night doesn’t have to be about L plates and plastic willies! Stand out from the crowd and theme your hen night celebrations with outrageous glow sticks, glow in the dark necklaces and glow bracelets. Go the whole hog and team them up with hot neon outfits and funky UV reactive accessories!
10. Decorate the bride’s bouquet
A little bit quirky and definitely something different, why not see if your florist can incorporate slim eight inch glowsticks into your bouquet? More flexible than standard six inch glowsticks, eight inch glowsticks can be bent and manipulated a little (their standard use is for glow bracelets) so that they can be woven throughout the bridal bouquet to give it a beautiful glow!
So there we have it, a fun and imaginative way to use glowsticks to brighten up your nuptials for an unforgettable wedding day. Find out more about glowsticks and wedding decorations at The Glow Company www.glow.co.uk

Let Them Eat Cake, But Which One?
After choosing a dress, the perfect wedding cake is the next most important purchase for a girls' big day. With all eyes on the bride, the cake should be the only thing capable of stealing the limelight. So why not make it a show stopper for all the right reasons with a little help from The Cake Artist (www.thecakeartist.co.uk).
Sugar craft wizard and baker extraordinaire, Melanie Marley, MD of the Cake Artist, has been waving her magic wand, making couples' dreams come true for over 20 years. Designs range from the traditional, to more boutique creations dripping in semi-precious stones, and cakes used as a centre piece to set off the most elaborate of themed weddings.
Everything is hand made to bespoke order and no two cakes are ever the same. Melanie works closely with couples from enquiry to delivery, to make their hopes and visions a sugar craft reality to be admired by all. "Some couples have a clear idea of exactly what they want but with others, it's a case of working from a blank canvas. Every wedding cake is a collaboration of ideas that go to create a dream that is unique to the couple," said Melanie.
But where do you begin in choosing a cake? Here are some tips to consider from The Cake Artist:
How many guests does the cake need to serve? Special dietary requirements?Do you want to preserve your top tier for a future celebration? (ie) christening. Do you want the cake served as dessert? Which flavours are your favourite - for cake and filling? What is your colour theme, including flowers? Is there an overall theme that can be reflected in the cake? Which season is the wedding? Date of celebration?Type of venue and location? Budget?

Tobi Hannah's 2014 Bridal Collection - The Wall
The Wall collection celebrates what the Tobi Hannah brand is all about - thinking differently and individuality.
The name and campaign are inspired by Pink Floyd's album of the same title and in particular by the song - Another brick in the wall.
Tulle is definitely a recurring theme throughout the collection, used in ways to create a delicate sheer effect on dresses. The introduction of silk crepe adds luxury and there is also a fair amount of lace but again, very delicate to give an authentic vintage feel to the dresses.
The 2014 collection message is clear - Don't just be another brick in the wall and another typical bride. Embrace your personal style.
Intricately detailed short and tea length wedding dresses for the individual bride.

Fearnley's First Fascinators For Summer 2013
Kate Fearnley is delighted to launch her first ever fascinator collection, to complement her Spring/Summer 2013 Riviera Cocktail collection, bound to wow wedding guests as we head into the summer season.
Inspired by retro vacations, and focussing heavily on the styles and shapes of the Hollywood icons of the 1950s, the Riviera Cocktail collection brings into mind the post-war French Riviera - sun, drinks parties at the yacht club, promenading on the Mediterranean sea fronts, and is proving highly popular with wedding guests of all ages.
Fearnley's Fascinators are designed to match key pieces in the collection, which features Kate's trademark bold use of colour and flattering shapes. Shades of red, aqua, strawberry, pink and purple are interspersed with black and white and vibrant splashes of yellow. The collection also includes cherry printed stretch cottons, florals, spots and paintsplash prints.
"I am constantly being asked by wedding goers for recommendations of headwear to complement my
collections, so the fascinators are a long time coming" says Kate, 36. "I've been blown away by the response from my customers so far, and am looking forward to seeing these grace weddings and racecourses throughout the summer months."
The fascinators are placed onto comfortable bands, designed with practicality and comfort in mind, as well as perfectly accentuating the key features of the dresses they are designed to accompany. Priced at only £45, they won't break the bank either, to complete an outfit for the most special of summer occasion.
They are exclusively available from the Kate Fearnley boutique website www.katefearnleyboutique.co.uk

Cycling Honeymoon Ideas
Nothing has so energised our passion for two wheels as much as the triumph of cycling stars Sir Chris Hoy and Bradley Wiggins, who astounded us all in the Olympics and Tour de France. Now, however, we can take that passion to a whole new level by combining a love of pedal power with a love of travel - all thanks to a brand new adventure: Island Hopping by Bike in the Turku Archipelago.
The archipelago are one of Finland's most stunning natural phenomena, with no less than 20,000 islands stretching like giant stepping stones out into the sea from the south-west coastline. This new cycling tour flits from island to island, taking full advantage of excellent local ferries that sail back and forth almost constantly.
Hosted by Guild Travel, Finland's leading travel specialist, the adventure begins with a flight to Helsinki and the welcome comforts of a three-star hotel right in the heart of this beautiful city: the perfect place to begin your sightseeing by bike next morning, all with the help of an English-speaking guide.
Next it's off by train to Turku, Finland's oldest city and former capital, where you can sample local and international cuisine in the restaurants around your three-star hotel.
On day three you continue by bike to nearby Naantali and soon after the island-hopping begins in earnest, first with a ride across the bridge to Merimasku followed by a leg-resting and relaxing 45-minute ferry journey.
Refreshed by an overnight stay with sumptuous dinner in a converted farmhouse, begin your main island-hopping day with seven ferry journeys to the heart of the archipelago - the tiny, remote island of Iniö then Houtskari, which boasts some of the region's most challenging routes. After well-earned rests on the ferry rides to Korpoo, then Nauvo, it's time for some serious R 'n' R in an old manor house located amidst beautiful natural scenery. Before dinner, why not enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea or indulge yourself with an evening sauna?
Next morning the ferry takes you north back to the mainland where you continue by bike via Rymättylä to Naantali, an idyllic seaside village with cobbled streets and traditional wooden houses set around a bustling harbour - and, of course, a lovely spa hotel for you to relax in before heading next day by bike to Turku and a one-hour train to Karjaa. From here it's on to Fiskars, a former iron works village, then Tammisaari, a quaint seaside town of well-preserved, centuries-old wooden houses.
Having enjoyed an overnight stay in a hotel close to the sea you can ride out to the majestic ruins of Raaseborg castle then on to Mustio and a fitting finale: a last night of the very best Finnish hospitality in a manor house with extensive gardens and world-class restaurant.
Remember, throughout your trip, you won't have to carry extra provisions or cash in your panniers; included in your dream holiday are return flights, airport transfers, seven nights accommodation with breakfast, three three-course dinners, your Helsinki tour, train and ferry tickets and luggage transportation - not forgetting, of course, a bicycle and helmet and detailed route notes and maps. Prices start from £994 per person based on twin occupancy. For more information on this wonderful new trip visit www.guildtravel.com

The small rubber caps - which come in a variety of colours and designs - fit simply on to ladies' heels preventing the points disappearing into soft ground, scraping on gravel and cobbles, and marking wooden floors.
Clean Heels' glamorous and practical stoppers make the perfect favour for high-heeled guests, and leave no excuses to avoid the dancefloor!
Inventor Ally Stevenson, who manufactures Clean Heels and Heel Sleeves in the UK using eco-friendly materials, launched the revolutionary idea after experiencing the inevitable sinking feeling while
attending weddings and races across the country.
She said: "With Heelstoppers you don't have to worry about your guests damaging their shoes on rough ground or missing out on photos on the grass. They are a wonderful idea to treat your guests with and come in many different colours to match all outfits. Each Heelstopper is made from a soft eco-friendly plastic that will protect the shoe from dirt without ruining silk or diamante heels."
Priced from only £4.99, these disposable items can be sent out with invitations, attached to Order of Service sheets or beautifully displayed in their organza pouches on tables at the reception. This
flawless favour can also be easily slipped into the smallest of handbags.
Brides who buy more than 30 Heelstoppers will be treated to the £2 wholesale price, and guests buying over 20 will receive a discount. Orders are delivered with free postage and packaging, and
dispatched within one hour of purchase.
