Van Cleef & Arpels Launch Their Newest High Jewellery Collection,
Peau D'Ane
Suffused with enchantment, Van Cleef & Arpels' new collection of High Jewellery is inspired by a well-known French fairy tale, Peau d' ne. In its homage to the story of this young princess, the Maison has revisited several of its favourite themes: the feminine figures born in the 1940s, a charmed nature, the delicacy of couture adornments and the language of romance. This graceful, fairylike atmosphere is complemented by the magic of gems – Pierres de Caractère™ in exceptional ensembles, uniquely subtle gradations of shades and spellbinding cuts for the stones. The creations bring a bejewelled fairy tale to life and evoke a rich array of emotions, from wonder through to love.

Creating Glamorous, Bold Designs From Everyday Objects - Alice Menter Launches New Collection 'Washers'
Alice Menter has launched her new collection ‘Washers’. Further developing her skill of creating glamorous, bolddesigns from everyday objects, Alice has silver and gold plated circular washers, and combined them with various elements including leather, chain and hexagonal nuts to create a structured, contemporary collection, with her trademark cool, luxe edge.
The exploration of this new disc shape within the collection continues the repetitive use of everyday objects transformed into something precious. Giant Washers have been structured and layered together to create striking designs that are versatile and suitable for any occasion.
The collection includes layered circle earrings in a combination of finishes, and structural stacked disc bracelets and necklaces, true statement jewellery at its best.
There are also some additional limited edition pieces in suede leather handwoven with gold plated washers.
Following the success of the new slimmer woven 'Ivy' bracelets, Alice has updated another of her signature best selling cuffs to create the Rebecca bracelet. This thinner version of the classic, chunky Ruby cuff can be worn alone, or stacked for impact. The new price point of these slimmer bracelets, which retail at under £100, makes them a great addition to any accessories selection. The Rebecca bracelets were previewed at London Fashion Weekend and completely sold out within day one.
All pieces are handmade with care in the Bristol studio.
This passion for small scale, and keeping her collection made in the UK hasn’t wavered over the last two years despite the business growing rapidly and now stocking in leading department stores such as Harvey Nichols and Fortnum and Mason.
Brand Director Alice Cabanas said:
‘It’s a big part of our brand – we love being able to keep the production here in the UK. We have a growing team, and we feel passionate about keeping the brand British.’
Alice Menter works with every day objects such as hexagonal nuts, zips and washers which she gold and silver plates and combines with elasticated chord, leather and gold and silver chain to create bold, industrial, luxurious statement pieces, which always get the wearer noticed.

Handmade Fingerprint Jewellery - The Ideal Christmas Gift From Less Than £100
Stuck for gift ideas that never fade with time? Then look no further than Hold Upon Heart’s range of fingerprint jewellery which captures a moment in time that lasts for a lifetime.
Husband and wife team, Melanie and Jeff Price were inspired to set up their Fingerprint Jewellery business, Hold Upon Heart, following the birth of their first child and since then their business has gone from strength to strength.
“Fingerprint jewellery is the perfect gift for mums or dads at Christmas. The best thing is each piece is unique so it is likely to mean much more to the person receiving it than a mass produced item from a jewellery store”, said Melanie.
“The process of capturing a child’s fingerprint or even a well-loved pet’s paw print is really quite simple.
When an order is placed for a particular piece of handmade jewellery from our range we send out a simple kit which includes a special putty which is used to capture an impression of a child or pet’s fingerprint.
This is then posted back to us and we do the rest. Our jewellery is created either from Sterling Silver or the latest addition to our range – gold vermeil.”
Hold Upon Heart are able to incorporate a special personalised fingerprint in most types of jewellery from charms to bracelets and even cufflinks and keyrings.
Every item of Hold upon Heart jewellery is handmade by Melanie and Jeff, so in order to get the jewellery created in time for Chrismas the couple are keen to advise anyone who wants to place an order no later than 17th November so that prints can be received back in the studio by 22nd November.
This is the date Hold Upon Heart will need to receive prints or artwork to allow enough time to make and hallmark the order so that it can be dispatched in time for Christmas.

Arrival Of Our First Fair-Trade Silver Collection
La Jewellery is honoured to have been chosen by CRED JEWELLERY as the first company in the United Kingdom to receive Fairtrade Silver.
You may be wondering what is so special about this silver in particular…
Fairtrade Silver endures a journey; it shines a light on conscious business ethics and the joy of equality.
The silver is mined in Sotrami, an artisanal mine situated in the Andes. The mine is 2,450m above sea level and 60 miles away from the nearest town.
Being Fairtrade it is essential the miners are given a fair price for their produce. They also receive a 10% premium which goes straight to the community; helping to support primary schools with new computers, enabling improvements to the medical clinic, and the installation of an emergency dental facility.
From raw Fairtrade Silver grain, with love, we have beautifully sculpted a Limited Edition Collection. That showcases organic forms inspired by land and sea…
"The Demons of Change" collection, inspired by the very talented Ben Howard's record 'Keep your head up', provokes personal thought on change; the fear of change, the want for change and the need for change. Just like each piece in this stunning collection it is unique to the individual.
The collection includes a selection of both statement and delicate pieces. Prices range from £27 - £122.
About us...
Many jewellery companies these days call themselves ‘bespoke’, producing beautiful work that is indeed to the customer’s specifications. At La Jewellery though, we like to think we take it a step further, to make bespoke mean ‘utterly unique’, ‘inspirational’ and most of all, ‘magical’.
Lisa Anne and the team within the company believe very firmly too in the tangible value of life and lessening our impact on the environment in which we live whilst being mindful of equality and a fair way of life.
Lisa Anne has been designing and creating jewellery for 23 years, she loves what she does and in every piece she creates, she hopes to pass a little of that love onto you, the traveller who has found their way here.

The Art Of Bio-Vegan Ethical Wedding Rings
The name Kerstin Laibach has become synonymous with the purest form of ethical goldsmith artistry and her ultra-bespoke wedding and partnership rings are no exception, entirely hand-forged for couples wishing to exchange their vows with bands that also reflect a genuine commitment towards environmental care.
Laibach’s newly extended marriage and relationship examples also show how she integrates old family gold and stones into her clients’ new rings.
“More wedding couples are requesting my regeneration techniques when commissioning marriage rings” says Kerstin “I use their old gold and precious stones, often parents or grandparents worn-out wedding bands, and hand-forge into new designs and with additional recycled precious metals if necessary. This is ecologically the most appropriate use of any precious materials since it requires such little processing, absolute minimal carbon emission and ultimately fulfils a very personal connection between the piece and its wearer.”
Instead of casting and computer aids, Kerstin uses rare hand-forging skills to create all her designs, from basic wedding bands and chains to her extraordinary Finger Sculptures, holistically addressing each piece by hand with exceptional precision, resulting in distinguishing character and comfort tuned to each individual client. She also exclusively forges rings from unique recycled gold alloys – beautiful hues to harmonize with different skin tones.
Renowned for her meticulous ecological approach, Kerstin Laibach’s “Bio-Vegan” fine jewellery crafting principles are a world first, covering sourcing and disposal as well as all aspects of hand-making processes - uniquely developed ethics to radically minimize wear and tear on our planet when creating jewellery.
“I don’t use anything in my creation process which isn’t from recycled, entirely biodegradable or would otherwise be diverted from a recycling chain,” says Kerstin. “This is a process called “thrucycling” whereby everything I make is not just recyclable but also earth safe if ever discarded.”
For complete vegan peace of mind, Kerstin Laibach makes her own cruelty-free workshop materials and tools that can’t otherwise be obtained without animal derivatives or have been animal tested. “Making a piece truly veggie-friendly is not just the obvious omission of materials derived from animal slaughter such as pearls and leather,” says Kerstin. “There are all kinds of workbench essentials which even the strictest vegan may not realise are a no-go when it comes to creating a pure vegan piece throughout. Truly vegan fine jewellery doesn’t just mean no animals harmed during the making of, but it’s also ensuring no new destruction to their habitats before and long after.”
This moral path clearly leads to the question of precious metal and stone mining. Kerstin’s answer - to what she sees as “a completely unnecessary mutilation of a planet at tipping-point, just for vanity” - is simply to use only recycled precious metals, self-gathered surface stones and sea-glass from permissible areas without detriment to habitats and antique precious stones through commissioned requests. A percentage of Kerstin’s sales profits go to selected wildlife protection organisations, including land-care education or sustainability projects in developing countries. “I try to help offset the continuing damage caused by mining by donating to ventures that can help subsistence based communities prosper by protecting their precious ecosystems instead of digging them up for gold,” says Kerstin.

Glam Confidential Unveils Fresh Look With New Pearl Collection
Glam Confidential, www.glamconfidential.com, a portal of unique and stylish accessories introduces a stunning range of freshwater pearl jewellery. The extensive collection includes timeless classic designs, clean contemporary styles and dramatic statement pieces dripping with glamour. Featuring the very best quality triple A grade pearls, this collection has the credentials to bejewel almost any occasion.
Queen of the gems, pearls have historically captured the imagination of the rich and famous, and been an inspiration for myth and majesty for thousands of years. Worn famously by generations of leading ladies from Cleopatra, to Elizabeth 1, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and recently Rihanna, today pearls are no less of a sought after gem, and a fashion icon in their own right.
Harvested and cultivated in the lakes and rivers of South East Asia from freshwater mollusks, each individual pearl that features in a Glam Confidential piece of jewellery is painstakingly hand-selected from thousands, having been meticulously examined for quality, size, shape, lustre and colour. The pearls are then matched, drilled, strung and fastened with silver hallmarked clasps, to create luxurious pieces that flatter any outfit.
Glam Confidential’s pearl collection features both white and coloured gems, classic round pearls, exotic rice shaped and Baroque pearls, as well as more eclectic irregular shaped gems. These are crafted into a wide range of lengths and designs including collars, ropes and multiple strands, which can be worn looped, knotted or layered.
A simple single string looks perfect with almost anything, and will even add a touch of modern chic to jeans and a t-shirt. Combined with a classic suit a multiple strand pearl necklace commands an air of authority, yet when teamed with an evening dress will add allure and femininity.
The luxurious pearls scarfs are a real show stealer, and will take centre-stage in the fashion stakes, especially if teamed with understated black dress, or when worn over the shoulder pearls are a fabulous way to accentuate a backless dress.
For the ultimate arm candy, pearl bracelets are available in five or eight strands of round white pearls and are glamorous when worn on their own, or will compliment other jewellery.
Glam Confidential pieces come in a velvet-lined, solid wood box for safekeeping. Pearls are to be treasured and do need special care and attention, they should be the last thing you put on when dressing to avoid contact with cosmetics and hair styling products. They are best cleaned using a damp cloth or chamois and kept in a soft pouch, bag or indeed their original Glam Confidential jewellery box.
The collection ranges from £352 – £720 depending on style and design. For further information visit:

World's First Bio-Vegan Fine Goldsmith Collection At Jewellery Week
A purely vegan jewellery collection entirely hand-forged by luminary ethical goldsmith artist Kerstin Laibach has returned to Treasure, the flagship event of Jewellery Week at Somerset House. Based on her redeveloped crafting techniques, workbench aids and materials, Kerstin Laibach ensures an exceptional level of vegan and earth-friendliness during all stages in the making of any jewellery heirloom, including marriage rings.
Even with such rigorous ethics, Laibach designs are never compromised, exploring far outside the boundaries of jewellery lore with extraordinary Finger Sculptures that fascinate as standing art pieces or sit comfortably on or between fingers for that truly grandiose flaunt along the red carpet. Highlights include “London Rising”, a 16cm high tribute to Renzo Piano’s Shard, “The Great White Egrets” one of around three pieces for special auction by the Somerset Wildlife Trust at Wells Cathedral in 2014, “Seahorses”, also for auction to raise funds for the Seahorse Trust. The Harvest Ring, containing fresh fruits, celebrates the spirit of Kerstin Laibach’s unique principles.
Kerstin says, “Making a piece truly veggie friendly is not just the obvious omission of materials derived from animal slaughter such as pearls and leather. No life or environment should suffer for the sake of jewellery. Mining is detrimental to the ecology of our planet, and there is no form of raw extraction for the jewellery industry that can genuinely claim to the contrary. Whichever way gold, silver or platinum is dug up there is always a severe ecological impact to vital, natural ecosystems; habitats containing flora and fauna, which is crucially interlinked with the unseen but highly complex microbiological activity below ground - whether it is ancient forest floors, rivers or sea beds.”
Kerstin’s answer to counteract what she sees as “a completely unnecessary mutilation of a planet at tipping-point … just for vanity” is simply to use only recycled precious metals and ensures that every aspect of her jewellery, from the raw materials to the finished piece, is entirely earth-friendly.
“I try to help offset the continuing damage caused by mining by donating a percentage of my profits to wildlife protection organisations, including land-care education or sustainability projects in developing countries that can help subsistence based communities protect their precious ecosystems instead of digging it up for gold.”
All of the tools and materials used at Kerstin’s workbench are vegan friendly with no trace of anything animal derived, right down to specially obtained materials or re-invented appliances – alternatives to workbench essentials which even the strictest vegan may not realise are a no-go when it comes to creating a pure vegan piece throughout. As a refined goldsmith, Kerstin hand-makes every last detail including intricate chains and closing mechanisms. She doesn’t cast her pieces or use computer programmes for any modelling or casting processes. With rare hand-forging skills, she addresses each piece with a holistic approach - tuning each piece to a client’s exact needs. Kerstin also makes her own hemp jewellery pouches and vegan sealing wax to round of a truly ecologically sound heirloom investment. “I also don’t use anything in my creation process which isn’t entirely biodegradable or would otherwise be diverted from a recycling chain. This is a process called “thrucycling” (a term created by VeggieGlobal) whereby everything I make is not just recyclable but also safely biodegradable if ever discarded.” Therefore a truly vegan fine jewellery piece doesn’t just mean no animals harmed during the making of, but it’s also ensuring no new destruction to their habitats before and long after.”
Laibach’s ethical wedding and relationship rings and bespoke bridal pieces (all suitable for vegan couples) are also featured as part of Treasure’s Wedding Trail at Jewellery Week.
Although most of Laibach’s stones in her pieces are simple self-gathered surface pebbles from permissible areas (and without any detriment to the environment) she also uses antique diamonds but only on bespoke request.
“Besides there being enough precious metal already mined to be infinitely recycled and re-circulated as new jewellery, there is also a mine of antique precious stones to be found in forgotten corners of jewellery boxes, either broken or simply undesired old pieces”, says Kerstin. “It’s from this starting point that I mainly work with clients’ wishes by evaluating what they already may have, which I can either restore if desired, or reclaim the parts as materials for an entirely new design”.
Passionately dedicated to upholding ecological integrity, Kerstin Laibach’s ethics serve as an inspirational milestone in truly green 21st century goldsmithing.

New Marco Bicego Collection Celebrates The Vibrant Colours Of Venice
Succulent colour flickers through organically faceted jewels within Marco Bicego’s new Murano collection, which uses hand-cut gemstones (a selection of Yellow Quartz London Topaz, African Amethyst, Iolite, Green Tourmaline, Red Tourmaline and Rhodolite) in a range of vibrant, contrasting colours all set in 18 carat yellow gold.
The full Murano collection launched at BASELWORLD in April and has been inspired by the colours and artisanship of the Venetian island of Burano, a place that is close to the heart of designer Marco Bicego, who said:
“More and more often I get a sudden urge to drive to Venice for the day: the call from this enchanted city is hard to resist. Its uncommon dynamics, its colours and noises that were once only words to me have now become a strong source of inspiration for my creativity. It was during my last visit to Venice that I had the intuitions that helped me develop my latest collection.
“Sailing through the canals of Venice to reach the tiny island of Burano is when its geometric and colourful architecture started to move my imagination. I was hypnotised by the masterpieces created by the glass blowers in Murano, where they execute amazing sculptures with incredible colours from elements combined from ancient ‘recipes’. These are the ingredients that have inspired this collection: the geometric and irregular shapes of the village of Burano and the intense colours of the glass that led me to explore new shades of gemstones that I never considered before.”
The Murano collection will be launching at Marco Bicego concessions in Harrods and Harvey Nichols this Spring and will be then available at Marco Bicego stockists across the UK and Ireland.
Hand engraving techniques and a signature “hand-woven coil” design have become hallmarks of the Marco Bicego brand, with an outstanding quality of workmanship reflected throughout the collections.
Marco Bicego’s 18 carat gold jewellery collections are wearable, Italian-style pieces that are designed to be mixed, matched and layered. With that unmistakeably Italian sense of Dolce Vita this is jewellery that is versatile enough to look good with jeans and a white shirt or to perfectly accessorise an evening gown.
The origins of the brand date back to 1958 when Giuseppe Bicego founded a small artisanal workshop in the town of Trissino in the Vicenza region of Italy. Now, more than 40 years later and with son Marco at the helm, the Marco Bicego brand is synonymous with Italian style and craftsmanship around the world.

Luxury Emerging Jewellery Brand, Gia Belloni
Where the weight lies, how the curves ‘flick’ & colours used all play a role in the subtleties of ‘Flattering Jewellery’.
British London based Luxury Jewellery designer, Gia Belloni, has launched her SS/13 collection. The ‘Colony’ collection is based on the huge importance Bees play in our lives along with the feminine mythology that surrounds them. Gia’s designs always centre on flattering the body, talismanic concepts and the quality of finished designs. Gia says, “When we look and feel confident, we can conduct our lives in a more empowered way. Jewellery is a powerful form of self expression, the details that make a piece of my jewellery enhance your cheekbones or lengthen the look of your neck, just like a fabulous pair of jeans, can let you look and feel your best”.
As a designer with an eye for both elegance and edge, Gia Belloni creates the kind of work that makes an impact for the modern stylish woman. In addition to her attention to detail, Gia’s design development often stems from a subject matter that is both factually fascinating and steeped in mythology and legends, making her jewellery not only interesting but also faintly talismanic. Gia’s latest ‘Colony’ collection pulls from some of the myths surrounding Bees, honey and colonies, such as preservation in love, feminine strength and female intuition, in addition to some of the amazing facts about Bees themselves.
Gia's designs incorporate a luxury mix of silver, gold and black rhodium with textures, finishes and encrusted stone settings that radiate style.

Ancient And Modern: Two New Collections From Alexis Dove
New collections by jewellery designer Alexis Dove this Spring are inspired by ancient styles of jewellery. The Sarissa collection uses motifs common in Mesopotamian or Sumerian jewellery that can be interpreted as arrow-heads or leaves. The Helios collection uses hammered discs framed with granulation, in styles based on Ancient Greek artefacts that celebrated the sun.
“Sarissa and Helios represent a desire to bring design elements from my fine jewellery pieces into my silver collections, connecting the two areas of my design work more closely,” says Alexis.
“I started creating fine jewellery collections when I studied at Sir John Cass with heavy inspiration from antiquity. I remain fascinated by the human need to adorn the body and feel that jewellery should always be primarily about this. These two new collections are both inspired by jewellery from ancient cultures. I use natural motifs, including leaves, flowers and other wildlife, along with images from nature that were important to everyday ancient life including the sun. These are what inspired me to create modern jewellery that brings together these ideas, using elements such as hand hammered textures and granulation.”
As with all Alexis Dove collections, each piece is available in a variety of finishes, from silver to yellow and rose gold vermeil and with black rhodium. All Alexis Dove jewellery is hand-made in Sussex and includes a signature clasp, which is part of the hand-finished look.

Van Cleef & Arpels Launches New Sweet Alhambra In Cornelian And Pink Gold
From May 1, 2013, two new creations in pink gold and cornelian will complete the Sweet Alhambra line. Playfully feminine, it will be enriched by heart-shaped and Alhambra ear studs.
Renowned for its deep and joyful hue, cornelian was one of the first stones to be used in jewellery. Much prized by the Ancient Romans for intaglios, it was thought by the Egyptians to symbolize life.
The material first appeared in the Alhambra collection in 1968, on a long necklace with alternate yellow gold and cornelian motifs. Its distinctive orangey-red tones now embellish the Sweet Alhambra, Magic Alhambra and Lucky Alhambra lines.
Mainly from Brazil, the stones used in the Maison's creations display an intense lustre, which is enhanced by careful polishing. The motifs are then carefully matched to ensure that all jewels share a consistent shade.

Celebrity Engagement Ring Trends
2013 so far has seen a boom in celebrity engagements, from Frankie Sandford & Wayne Bridge, Elle Macpherson & Jeff Soffer, and Millie Mackintosh & Professor Green, we take a look at the popular engagement ring styles within the celebrity circle this year with engagement ring specialists David M Robinson.
Solitaire, Round brilliant 4 claw in platinum
The word “solitaire” means “the one", a key reason why classic solitaire rings are extremely popular within the wedding industry. The timeless solitaire design never goes out of style and celebrities including Scarlett Johansson and Michelle Obama are fans of the traditional solitaire style.
Princess cut in Platinum with diamond set shoulders
Princess cut rings are one of the most popular larger diamond cuts. Traditionally square, the princess diamond is cut for maximum brilliance and is the perfect cut if you’re looking for a show stopping engagement ring. Diamond set shoulders add extra sparkle to princess cut diamonds, and this style is a popular choice for celebrities including Jessica Alba.
Three stone round in platinum
Known as “Past, Present and Future” rings, a three stone ring is a beautiful alternative style ring. Popular with celebrities including Jessica Simpson and Christina Ricci, three stone rings generally have a larger centerpiece diamond, surrounded by two smaller diamonds and this style works well with coloured diamonds and stones for an alternative engagement ring style.
Round with Diamond set shoulders platinum
From the recent picture Frankie Sandford tweeted of her new engagement ring, we think that her ring looks like a large round diamond style, a very popular and a classic choice from Wayne Bridge. Unknown to many, round diamonds are more durable and are less likely to chip than many diamond shapes with sharp corners. Along with platinum metal to support the round diamond, this ring style is extremely hard wearing and will continue to shine for a lifetime..
Emerald Cut platinum 4 claw
The unique, elongated emerald diamond has a great vintage look and feel, and is a popular choice with celebrities including Supermodel Elle Macpherson, Kate Hudson and Millie Mackintosh. The mirrored cuts on emerald cut diamonds plays off light, and creates a ‘Hall of Mirrors” effect, sure to sparkle and catch your eye!

Chic Jewelry That Brings Cool Relief To Women When The Heat's On!
Hot Girls Pearls, the first freezable, fashion-forward jewelry collection designed to provide substantial relief from rising body temperature, is the brainchild of Constance Sherman - the company's Chief Cooling Officer. Her collection of fashionable cooling necklaces and bracelets was born out of necessity.
Ms. Sherman shares the story in The Huffington Post detailing how uncomfortable hot flashes in winter led her to the kitchen freezer for quick cool downs. To read this inspiring story and learn how Hot Girls Pearls is, today, contributing to "global cooling ... one woman at a time" click on the link below:

Desperate for a solution for combating mid-life hot flashes, Sherman combined function with fashion and developed Hot Girls Pearls necklaces and bracelets as accessories with purpose.
Hot Girls Pearls are made of over-sized "pearls" filled with nontoxic cooling gel that gets icy cold in the freezer. Designed to resemble strands of plumped-up classic pearls, the necklaces and bracelets are available in three colors -- white, blush and gunmetal -- as well as three lengths -- 16", 18" and 20". Cooling convenience comes in an insulated travel purse complete with ice pad. For any woman feeling like a towering inferno due to menopause, over activity, pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, stress or hot weather, Hot Girls Pearls is a simple way to cool a woman down.
What's more, Hot Girls Pearls are therapeutically appropriate to cool down the wearer suffering from heat-inducing treatments associated with such medical conditions as lupus, multiple sclerosis and cancer.
"One of the reasons I believe Hot Girls Pearls has become so popular is its broad appeal to women from all walks of life," says Sherman. "I've heard and read success stories from many women including career executives, presenters, golfers, travelers, healthcare professionals, pregnant and menopausal women and more. Their stories are encouraging and inspiring."
Hot Girls Pearls will continue to expand its line of cooling fashion accessories this year, with the expected spring debut of both clip-on and pierced style "pearl" earrings. Hot Girls Pearls has received nationwide media recognition and is sold both online, in spas, country clubs, museum gift shops and in more than 120 stores throughout the nation and around the world.

Lite Kalabalik Bursts Into Life At Ella Georgia With A "Chaos" Of Colour
Ella Georgia, the ethical artisan jewellery company, has linked up with yet another striking designer to offer the bold, stylish bracelets and rings from Swedish duo Lite Kalabalik. Handmade in Istanbul and new to the UK, the simple yet intensely colourful jewellery uses an ever changing array of seasonal colours to create a unique collection of beautiful ‘arm candy’.
Literally meaning ‘a little chaos or mix-up’, Lite Kalabalik was set up by Lina Andersson and Malin Wikerberg in 2009 with the desire to create a new and exciting brand fusing together simple, elegant Swedish style with the vibrancy of the Turkish markets. Their iconic bracelets use braided fabrics (a traditional artisan Turkish craft) with added natural glass stones that are set in plated gold or silver. The fabrics are dyed by hand and each stone has its own character and shade so that each bracelet is unique.
“We felt that the cool design style available in Istanbul was colourful, playful, bright and daring and as yet totally undiscovered in Scandinavia”, says Malin.
With Ella Georgia’s help, you can now discover it in the UK too with their bold, vibrant bracelets and rings available to purchase online at www.ellageorgia.com or direct from the Ella Georgia boutique in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.
In 2003, Sian Foster united her passion for jewellery with her desire to make a difference, and created Ella Georgia, an ethical artisan boutique aimed at helping people look good and feel good, affordably. Ten years on and Ella Georgia now boasts partnerships with 60+ designers, has a thriving on-line community and is due to launch exclusive men’s and children’s websites this year.
Sian, however, never forgets why she started Ella Georgia in the first place. “Our aim is to try and ensure that every component in every piece has been sourced to the highest ethical standards, and therefore provides very real and tangible benefits for the producer. Lite Kalabalik shares those high ethical standards and also strives to give something back through their co-operation with the Swedish charity SOS Children’s Villages.”
The last ten years have seen a huge leap forward both professionally and personally for Sian. Not only has the business grown from the kitchen table to a flourishing shop and website, but Sian was nominated for Mumpreneur UK of the year last year.
2013 sees the launch of her new Men’s and Weddings’ websites, as well as the 5th anniversary of her internet site www.ellageorgia.com and the 4th anniversary of her bijoux boutique in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. Join Sian and Ella Georgia this year as they’ll certainly be celebrating in style!
